Here it comes! Closer.... closer.... here it is! Right in from of her eyes. There it goes. Farther.... farther... there it goes! Lucy stared out into the distance. She sat under a beech tree, which only shaded half of her on the dark, warm afternoon. It was an hour past lunch exactly and Lucy was feeling utterly disturbed. She sat there trying to grasp what she didn't know she was trying to reach. One minute it was there and the next minute gone. Was her whole life going to be such a whirlwind? It seemed to her that all her hopes, dreams, wishes, and happenings were leaving her, turning into some wonderful, terrible, colorful, graceful smudge! Her life, as in her thoughts, reminded her of a dragonfly: one minute its there, the next minute gone!
As Lucy sat trying to thing this all through, she just started to cry. Tears of joy, anger, love, and every other emotion began to come out. The water droplets hit her arms and legs. She scooted up staight against the tree and lifted her knees. Lucy burried her eyes in her knees so that none of her face could be seen. Her hair fell around her legs, so that only her legs and hair were accountable.
Hours later Lucy began to hear voices, maybe just one voice, shre really couldn't tell. Oh how embarassing to be found like this. She lifted her head, wiped her tears, combed out her hair with her fingers, and glanced around. She didn't see anyone. With that she began to weep again, but the voice or voices got louder and louder until they were perfectly clear... and there it went again, Lucy was lost in a tornado of thoughts... it was there and now gone.
