Stealing away from the hustle and bustle of the busy castle, a single body headed out from the throng of students who made their way into the Great Hall, ready for their evening meal. But instead of heading inside with the lot of them, she headed in the opposite direction, toward the lake and away from the noisy conversations that could soon take place between the students. It was the only time of day when she could be by herself, to try and sort out her mind and the thoughts within it.
And sure enough, there was no one around. Not a sound but the calm winds flying over the waters reached her ears, a sound so soothing, there were no words to describe it further. She had spent the entire day waiting for this moment, waiting to allow herself that chance to be less of a student far from home, but more of a teenager, who needed to enjoy life while she was still able too.
Blue eyes scanned the area around her as she checked to make sure that there was no one else around, before she slipped into the bushes just by the banks of the lake, peeling herself out of her sweaty uniform. One by one, the skirt, tie, and shirt all fell to the ground, until her thin figure was left standing merely in her underclothes. Again, almost mischeviously, she looked around for someone else, then quickly made her way to the edge and dove, head first, into the fridged waters.
After a moment, she resurfaced, inhaling the warm night air as her body slowly became used to the temperature that she now placed against her bare skin. Eyes closed for only a moment before she dove down again, enjoying the feel of the water, despite the chill. Like a fish, she continued on, staying close to the bank so that she could escape to the warmth of her clothes before returning to her dormitory.
This was her moment alone.
