General Personality: Augusten is an anomaly to the Longbottom family. He isn’t anything like ANY of his ancestors nor does he care to be. It would seem as if those blonde strands were the only thing he inherited from his parents. He loves to look good and knows that he was blessed with natural beauty. He won’t let you forget it anytime soon either. He loves to be flattered and receive compliments, but is not so great at giving them. He is vain and proud which are his downfalls most of the time. However, he is manipulative and cunning so that he gets whatever he wants. If he doesn’t use his looks to achieve this he uses his sharp tongue. He has a certain astuteness about him that gives him the air of royalty, even though the Longbottom name is far from such. Head held high, nose even higher; he is the perfect Slytherin.

General Appearance: Augusten is the personification of Slytherin beauty. Blonde hair, green eyes and the confidence to achieve anything make him the perfect pureblood. The fact that he was born into the Longbottom family is wildly bewildering. He keeps a bit of stubble on his face to make him look older and smokes because all his friends do. His immaculate style of dress and his devilish good looks make him appear much older than a mere sixteen.

History: When little Augusten entered the wizarding world he looked like he was to be the next Luna Lovegood. His blonde hair and haunting eyes gave him that spacey look. Later on in his life that spaceyness about him would morph into a sort of prejudice that he carried with him. During his pre-Hogwarts years he spent most of his time in the gardens with his mother and father, but tended to hate getting dirty. He would play and roughhouse just like any other child, but when it came to playing in the mud you could count him out. He was never the rough and tumble kind of boy. He would rather be inside playing with his cars and dressing up in his father’s suits and ties.

His parents didn’t think much of his seemingly superficial personality until that is he began his schooling at Hogwarts. His sorting into Slytherin threw his entire family for a loop. They didn’t know that their son had Slytherin qualities in him and hated to think that he shared anything with the prejudiced purebloods. It did take the Sorting Hat several minutes to decide, but in the end he was placed with the other serpents because of his vanity, his drive to succeed and his pride. This came as a shock to Augusten, who up until recently hadn’t known much about the wizarding world since his parents were such hermits.

His first couple of years went smoothly and consisting of him networking and making friends that were all very high up. They at first gave him a rough time because of his name, but eventually figured out that he really was nothing like his other family. Most even said that he was adopted because of the difference.

It was in his third year that he really became a social climber. He began dressing to impress, more that the average Slytherin boy, and began making sure he was at the top of every popularity chart. Those in his year knew him as the cool kid in town now that he had outgrown his dreadful namesake. His younger sister, Amanda, had begun Hogwarts the year after him and he tried his hardest not to have anything to do with her. He tried to convince himself this was the typical older sibling younger sibling embarrassment, but it wasn’t. He knew he was wrong for trying to shun her, but he did so anyways. For the sake of being liked. He had to be liked, no matter what. If he wasn’t liked then how was he supposed to accomplish anything in life? This was his thinking on the matter. To make matters worse his sister was just like their mother. She was spacey, awkward and seemingly nerdy. Everything he was not.

His fourth and fifth passed with a breeze as he now had many friends. He had a wide network of Slytherin affiliates and future Death Eaters. He was a far cry from the shy, meek and nerdy Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood. He spent most of his time during these years primping and making sure that those around him weren’t upset with anything he did. He was always the crowd pleaser. Whatever it took to make someone like him he did it, as long as they were worth liking. It was also in these years that he became very seductive. He liked being the center of attention and kept a girl on his arm at all times. However, he could not fight his fleeting glances at the other boys. He knew that it was expected of him to have and keep girlfriends, but he found himself bored with their company. He needed something knew and more exciting. He needed to sew this wild oat of his and maybe it would go away. Little did he know that it would never go away, only intensify. For the sake of appearances he very voiced this yearning to anyone, but struggles with it constantly.

It is his sixth year at Hogwarts and as smooth as things had been going he is due for a collision of some sort. Karma could not be so great that it was going to allow his years at Hogwarts go unsoiled. Yep, it would be this year that he would experience drama, tragedy and despair; three things he never saw coming.

RP Sample: Augusten stepped out of the Slytherin common room and eventually exited the dungeon. As soon as he did he was swarmed by a herd of young girls all wanting him to walk them to class. They, of course, were all Slytherin girls and all of them were from rich, royal and pureblood families. They were the cream of the crop and they thought Augusten was too. Well in all actuality he was. He had the blood, the personality and the looks, even though his name was not the normal Slytherin. He did not care and he would not let his parents’ reputations ruin him, or his sister’s for that matter. He obviously hadn’t, as these little second and third year girls fell all over themselves every time they saw him.

Augusten pushed back his long, straight, blonde locks and walked with a giant stride towards his first morning class. He decided to skip breakfast and met up with his normal gang of Slytherin friends to talk and rumor before class. One of the girls followed him closely and when he stopped threw herself on his chest with was covered only by a black silk button up that of course was barely buttoned showing his chest and most of his abs and his cloak which hung loosely off his shoulders. He pushed the third year groupie off and waved his hand at the rest of them. They scattered at this motion for the fear of angering him.

He really asked for the pummeling of girls when he came out of the dormitory dressed in those tight black leather pants and that shirt that drove the girls mad. He leaned against the wall, after he shook off the girl, with one black Italian loafer on the wall and one on the floor. And so began his daily routine of barely making it to class, sometime not at all, gossiping and networking. He was always on the move. Constantly trying to preserve face.
